Saturday, October 19th – Virtual – Zoom details will be provided to registered attendees
Session 1 – 9:30 – 11 AM – Understanding the Product BEFORE You Code (Agile Planning)
How do programmers know exactly what to build? What process do they employ before coding starts? Movies show programmers pounding at a keyboard until the work is done, but this is not reality. The reality is that some of the most difficult work of building software happens before typing out code, such as thinking about what to build, how the user interactions should feel, what real problem the software is addressing. Some uniquely talented programmers can start coding without planning but for the rest of us, planning before coding is key. In this workshop, we’ll introduce you to a general application building process that you can tweak over time to fit your taste. This workshop is for those new to building applications or those who have never heard of terms like user stories, personas, or wireframes.
